Metro Community College students will be creating a Community Portrait of Council Bluffs, IA. The core of the documentary's mission is to: recognize the photographic legacy of Abraham Lincoln and his relationship with Council Bluffs, recognize our individual photographic legacies, bring the community closer, recognize our local diverse & individual beauty, create & strengthen the bonds of friends and neighbors, and to document ourselves as we wish to be remembered in this exciting time in Council Bluff's history.
The entire working and residential community of Council Bluffs is invited to come out and be photographed at the Union Pacific Railroad Museum on Saturday May 2nd from 1-4 pm as well as on Saturday May 9th from 1-4 pm! There will also be a "photo-booth" in Bayliss Park on Saturday May 9th during a "Taste of Council Bluffs".
Metro students will also be offering a series of workshops at the Union Pacific Railroad Museum focusing on the art of photography. "A Presidential Portrait" & "A Portrait Primer" will be offered both Thursday April 30th and Saturday, May 2nd "Picture Perfect Portraits" & "The Archival Advantage" will be presented May 6th at 6:30 pm and repeated Saturday May 9th at 10 am. All workshops will take place at the Union Pacific Railroad Museum
